When AIR's rules change
How AIR tells you when its EU AI Act rules changed after your last scan, and how to update the tier for free.
· 1 min read
AIR updates its EU AI Act rules from time to time. When they change after your last scan, the tier in your report may no longer match the current rules. AIR tells you, and lets you update the tier without running the assessment again.
On the AIR website
The latest report of a project shows a banner:
- that AIR's EU AI Act rules changed after this scan;
- the tier under the current rules, or that the tier stays the same;
- that updating needs no new scan and no credit.
Press Update the tier to apply the current rules to the facts the report already holds. AIR reads no documents and uses no credit.
In Claude Code
When you run /air:scan on a system that was assessed before, Claude says this first, before any other step. You choose:
- Update the tier now. Claude re-checks the tier and tells you the old and the new tier, and what the new one means.
- Later. AIR records who kept the old result and when, and the website banner shows that date. AIR asks again when the rules change again.
